Menopausal & Peri Menopausal Skincare
Understanding Peri-Menopausal & Menopausal Skin
As I write this (December 2025), I’m just a few weeks away from turning 47, and I’m well and truly in the thick of peri-menopause. While my skin is still glowing (just a little drier these days), it’s the brain fog, low energy, anxiety, and that strange “not quite present” feeling that really challenge me. I can’t help with those symptoms, but what I can help with is your skin — so let’s dive in.
As hormones shift—especially oestrogen—your skin can behave in completely new (and often frustrating) ways. And while hormonal changes are internal and something we can’t advise on medically, we’ve learned so much from listening to our customers about the external skincare choices that make a real difference.
Here’s what we see most often:
-
Skin becomes drier, thinner, and more easily irritated.
-
Fine lines and crepiness appear more quickly due to reduced collagen.
-
Many women notice increased sensitivity, redness, or unexpected breakouts.
-
Traditional shop-bought face washes and foaming cleansers tend to make dryness and sensitivity worse.
-
Synthetic detergents and strong fragrances often lead to a tight, itchy, or flaky complexion.
The positive news?
Switching to gentle, nourishing, natural formulations can help the skin feel softer, calmer, and far more resilient.
And while we’re not here to make medical claims, natural ingredients like honey, tallow, and plant oils have been used for centuries to support dry, delicate skin. If you enjoy skincare research, you’ll find plenty of interesting studies out there—feel free to explore 🐝✨

General Skincare Tips for Menopausal Skin
💆 Be gentle
Skip harsh scrubs, acids, or anything that stings. Treat your skin like delicate silk. Do not let your shampoo kather run over your face - its got detergents in it and will dry the skin out further. Unless you are using our shampoo!
🧴 Keep your routine simple
Fragrance-free, nutrient-rich, natural products tend to be best tolerated.
